The data set is shipped inside the app; no request is made to GeoNames and no data is sent to GeoNames. |
Changes made: the data set was reduced to German postal codes and to the fields postal code, place name and country code; large-recipient (Großempfänger) entries were kept as valid postal codes but their organisation name was replaced with the locality of the administrative area they belong to; the districts of a city were collapsed to the base city; and, where a postal code covers several towns, every candidate town is listed rather than one being chosen. Snapshot date: 2026-08-09. No other modification was made.
